English Language Development (ELD) is a federally mandated program that provides instruction in reading, writing, speaking and listening to students who speak or have been influenced by more than one language. Students also receive small group support for the English Language Arts and writing curriculum in their classrooms. Every year students take the English Language Proficiency exam (ELPA21) and those who score Level 4 (Early Advanced) to Level 5 (Advanced) graduate from the ELD program.
